The Race Engineering Academy was established in 2013 by our principal course coordinator, Dr. Dejan Ninic.
Since the start of the Race Engineering Academy, the course content has been designed by, and in conjunction with, an array of professionals with international motorsport experience. We pride ourselves on giving you relevant content from active race engineers and designers.
Dejan Ninic - B.E. (Mech) Ph.D.
Dejan Ninic brings to the Race Engineering Academy a wealth of broad experience ranging from World Rallying, International GT racing, race car design, driver coaching and vehicle simulation. In the past, Dejan served as a race engineer in the World Rally Championship with the client team for Citroen Sport. Currently, Dejan is involved in the Australian GT Championship with Audi Sport Australia, running the R8 of Ash Samadi. In addition, Dejan is the Director of Envirage and has overseen the design and development of several Time Attack cars in the past six years.
Sam Diasinos - B.E. (Aero) Ph.D.
Sam Diasinos is the director of Dynamic Aero Solutions. His aero design and analysis business is fortified by Sam's seven years of F1 experience. Sam is renowned for his awesome aero designs and his ability to master vehicle design to optimise aero performance. More recently Sam was responsible for the aero design of the RP968 Time Attack car aswell as serving as a race engineer in the NSW Sport Sedan series. Sam offers the students an experienced appreciation of practical aerodynamics as well as simple explanations of some of the brain twisting phenomena occurring around the body of a racing car.
Blake Smith - B.E. (Mat. Sci.)
Blake contribution to the Race Engineering Academy stems from his 10 years of motorsport experience in V8 Supercar and Indycar. He is an endurance race winner, knows how to setup a race car and how to get the best out of a driver and car combination. His practical advice on our Race Engineering and Race Strategy courses makes them highly valuable irrespective if you are a new or seasoned race engineer.
Yonah Azriel - B.E. (Mechatronics)
Yonah Azriel has the dream job of flying around the world to attend race meetings. He is currently the race engineer for D-Max racing in Italy, competing in national and international rallying. Yonah recently was involved in the design of the championship winning World RX car for Petter Solberg racing. Yonah inspires students with his "engineering is easy" attitude towards, what seem like, insurmountable challenges to get the best performance out of a race car.
Alongside Dejan, Sam, Blake and Yonah, a whole array of guest speakers bring a truly professional background to the courses available. Look out for our next guest speaker on the home page!
